Of Marathons and Medicine

Many major marathons (e.g., Chicago, Boston, London) host a sports medicine symposium for clinical professionals prior to the race, with the purpose of disseminating new and relevant clinical information about treating and training athletes. However, it is rare that such a symposium is targeted at runners, who are typically eager to learn about the scientific evidence underlying running and racing. Therefore, it is with great enthusiasm that I announce a new collaboration between Hartford Hospital, University of Hartford and the Hartford Marathon Foundation: a sports medicine symposium open to all runners, interested athletes, and/or the intellectually curious. If you are eager to hear the most updated research regarding exercise, running and marathons, then make sure you sign up for an exciting afternoon at The Hartford Club!HMF
